New Band Member, New Material

February 29th, 2008  |  Published in News

Big news is that Adam Webb-Orenstein (formerly of The Stevedores) has joined the band. We’ve been recording new material and having a good time of it. Adam’s playing cello, bass, keyboards, recorder, and whatever other instruments are around (as needed).

We dominate myspace. It’s sad for everyone else in myspace but on the bright side it’s nice for us. Tom Petty once sang “it’s good to be king”. Adam doesn’t like Tom Petty’s music that much but he loves being the king of myspace. Jeff likes being the king too, even if it’s delusional, nobody’ll notice the difference so let’s get on with it.

King Song #1: Code When You Call

The first time Adam and Jeff sat down to record they set immediately into a heretofore undiscussed, and unimaginably pleasant piece of music. Jeff pressed record. Then he pressed a note on an old Korg keyboard followed simultaneously by a button we call “hold”. From that moment forward the song was on and by the time we stopped recording it was finished. We took that song and listened to it.

Adam: “Do you like it?”

Jeff: “I do like it. It’s pleasant. Do you like it?”

Adam: “Yes, it’s very nice.”

Jeff: “Do you think it would be fun to re-record it?”

Adam: “That sounds fun.”

Jeff: “Let’s do that.”

Adam: “Ok.”

It’s too easy, friends, too easy. We’re rippin you off cuz we’re the god dang kings of myspace!
